Al-Majrit Dance

With a feeling for natural movement, hard stone is transformed into flowing lines.

This sculpture is just like the dancers in Madrid; graceful and fluent. The wavy movement of the sculpture is symbolic for the origin of the name Madrid. The name is given by the Moors in the 9th century. They built a small palace along the river "Manzanares" which they called "Al-Majrit" which means spring.
